Remember to use that tool you should have the administrator privileges on the system. If you have so then follow the steps below to use that hidden tool.
Click on the start button and type 'cmd' in the search bar.
Right click on the 'cmd' and open it as administrator by clicking on 'run as administrator' in the right click menu.
After opening the 'command prompt(cmd)' type 'powercfg -energy'. This command generates a report regarding your power settings on your laptop. The default directory of the report will be C: drive by default.
If you want to save the report in the different directory type this command instead of the first one,
powercfg -energy -output \Folder\Energy_Report.htm
After typing and hitting 'enter' in your 'cmd', wndows 7 will generate a report of your power settings like shown below.
